I tested this with my own iPhone and luckily it didn't leak!
As a case it isn't too big and bulky, both the cameras are usable, as well as the touch screen (although a little extra pressure is needed). I don't think the touch screen works under water most likely due to pressure, not a big deal though. It would definately protect against a drop of a couple of feet as the rubber is pretty thick, althought I'm not going to test that.
I am wondering how long the rubber case will last, the main two problems that could arise would be for it to discolour and effect the camera. The other would be how long the seal lasts. Obviously cleaning rubber isn't that easy once its grubby. I found by using one of those shamy cloths for swimmers left a lot less fluff on the rubber.

  2. great for paddling

I needed a case for when I was out kayaking so that I could protect my iPhone. This case ended up being better than I expected! The iPhone fits into a standard plastic protective case that can be used for everyday protection, with full access to all the ports and controls like many similar cases. When you want to fully waterproof the phone there is an additional plastic back with two screw sockets that slips onto the back of existing phone case. This is inserted into a fairly tight silicon based rubber skin case. Then a final plastic case with a rubber seal it screwed to this to make the seal waterproof. You end up with a sealed iPhone like the photos. I found while in the case that it was quite useful for taking videos and photos as long as no flash was involved! the touchscreen was quite useful though not as responsive, but that was to be expected given the skin. Sound via the unit was ok but you do sound a bit muffled on a call! There is no access to the headphones socket/docking socket which sealed. Overall I'm very happy with this case and I would recommend it to anyone involved in watersports.... though not sure about diving!! :D

It performed very well while snowboarding in Frech Alps but makes camera images a bit hazy. It is easy to apply and lightweight but strong.

  4. actually works
    Overall
    5 / 5

As skeptical as I was I purchased it for a holiday to mexico.
Did it work?? YES!
I tested it by stuffing tissue into the case without my phone, left it in a bucket of water for an hour or so then dried the case and opened it to find the tissue dry as a bone!

  5. Good but could be better

A totally waterproof case as long as care is taken to ensure the seal is properly seated. All controls can be used as normal although more pressure and care need to be taken when using them. My main criticism is that photo's and video are not clear due to the case being slightly opaque. Why the case isn't made with completely clear silicone I don't know!
